Love Notes or The Craft of Romance with Nadine Gonzalez

Attention all writers! Join us for a workshop led by a published author!

When to
Where Conference Room 4009

A well-crafted romantic sub-plot can add dimension to any genre. A love interest can raise the stakes in a thriller, round out the character of a fantasy trilogy hero/heroine, or serve as the ultimate blind spot for an antihero. With that in mind, it’s worth it to master the romantic arc. In this workshop, we’ll work through the mandatory beats in romance (meet cute, courtship, darkest hour, ending) and learn to nail each one. We’ll focus on avoiding clichés, showing chemistry, and building intimacy. Finally, we’ll work on expressing emotion in subtle, plausible ways.

Nadine Gonzalez was born in New York City, the daughter of Haitian immigrants. Eventually, she moved to Miami, Florida, and fell in love with the people, weather, and lifestyle. She started her first novel while in law school and her modern romances reflect this vibrant city and unique mix of cultures.  For more visit her website:

The moment Leila Amis meets her gorgeous new boss, top Miami Realtor Nicolas Adrian, she’s headed down a road of no return. When their explosive attraction culminates in a night of intense passion, she proposes a brief fling that must end when Nick leaves town in just eight weeks.
