For the past 10 years, Father Patrick Desbois and researchers from his organization, Yahad-In Unum, have investigated mass executions in the former Soviet Union amassing forensic evidence of more than 2.2 million Jews and Roma killed by bullets between 1941 and 1944 by Nazi killing units. This exhibition presents the results of these research investigations.
The Holocaust by Bullets exhibit documents this lesser-known side of the Holocaust with videotaped eye witness testimonies. This powerful exhibit showcases Father Patrick Desbois and Yahad-In Unum’s historic undertaking to ensure that these victims won’t be forgotten:
2.2 million Jews and Roma executed by Nazi mobile killing units
1,893 execution sites in 7 countries identified
4,714 videotaped eyewitness testimonies
The exhibit is located on the second floor of the NSU Alvin Sherman Library.
The exhibit is free and open to the public from October 8th to December 17th.
