Do you have a Polish Jew in your family treeĞ Or a Holocaust survivorĞ Join the Jewish Genealogical Society of Broward County and the Alvin Sherman Library as we host El Nuevo Hearld and Miami Herald columnist Daniel Shoer Roth as he relates his research experiences when he visited Poland in search of his grandfather's survior story.

Celebrate the opening of the Norman Rockwell Tom Sawyer exhibit in the Library Gallery.

Learn about life in the 19^th century and meet special guest historical reenactors. See a real working telegraph, tools, clothing, and toys from the frontier period. Help decorate Tom Sawyer’s white picket fence and illustrate your own adventures!

Sun. 11/22/09 - Second Annual American Girl Tea Party - For girls 6 - 12 (Registration FULL)

Come to our old-fashioned tea party! Enjoy tea treats, make paper dolls, play hopscotch, and sing patriotic songs. Make an African cowrie shell necklace like Addy’s, and learn how to make a Swedish braid like Kirsten’s. Dolls are invited, too!

After tea, we will explore boys’ life through Norman Rockwell’s illustrations of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
