The Many Faces of George Washington: A History Colloquium.

Learn about current research on the life and work of  President George Washington.

Presenters will include Edward G. Lengel, American military historian and professor at the University of Virginia; Sandra Norman, Professor of History, Florida Atlantic University; and Robert Watson, Professor, American Studies, Lynn University.

Lengel is the editor-in-chief of The Papers of George Washington and is the  the author of General George Washington: A Military Life, and Inventing George Washington: America's Founder, in Myth and Memory.Lengel will speak on 'The Leadership of George Washington.'

Robert Watson will talk on 'Washington's Women.'

Sandra Norman's topic will be 'Collecting the Revolution:  The Marvin and Sybil Weiner Spirit of America Collection at FAU.'

 

The Many Faces of George Washington' is a national traveling panel exhibition produced by the Mount Vernon’s Ladies’ Association in conjunction with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. The traveling panel exhibition is supported by a generous grant from the F.M. Kirby Foundation.
