Learn what it’s like to be a professional illustrator!
The program will include a reception where the guests can purchase books to have autographed and chat with the illustrators.  At the reception, we will have art activities where the children can make their own booklets and bookmarks.  Featured author/illustrators will include award-winning author/illustrator Henry Cole, and pop-up book artist and illustrator, Chuck Fischer.

About Henry Cole: Educational and interactive, Henry Cole's presentations dazzle audiences of all ages. His clever wit, theatrical expressions and remarkable ability to draw keep students laughing and engaged. Cole encourages students to develop their individual talents, using his own experience, marked by patience and perseverance, as an example. The mystery behind writing and illustrating your own book unfolds as Cole outlines the process from concept to printing press, using examples of his own work. Cole's delightful sense of humor and artistic talents inspire and entertain audiences. His performances are a treat!

About Chuck Fischer: Author, illustrator, interactive iPad app creator, and muralist, Chuck Fischer is one of the most talented and sought-after artists in America. Chuck Fischer entered the rarified world of illustrated pop-up books with the publication of his first book, Great American Houses and Gardens in 2002. His work has been featured at the Smithsonian Institution and is part of the permanent collection of the Cooper-Hewitt, The National Design Museum. Chuck Fischer is the best selling author of six pop-up books, including Angels: A Pop-Up Book, Christmas Around the World, and Christmas in New York. 2010 marks the fourth year Fischer has been honored with the commission to create the annual holiday card for The White House Historical Association.
