GSBC: Pathfinders, Guides, Finding Aids and Catalogs: Strategies for Genealogy Success

The Genealogical Society of Broward County's monthly meeting will feature Pamela Cooper, Genealogist, Lecturer and Librarian.

The strongest barrier to locating records when doing geneaology research is WHERE to look.  Repositories have created tools to access their collections and aid in retrieving information.  How often do we ask where can I find the record that I need?  Frequently, we overlook what may appear obvious--a thorough and complete published guide that describes family records that can help your research.  Locating original documents may be less difficult if the right tools are used.  Learn about the variety of techniques that can lead you down the right road to your destination.

The program will begin at 2:30 pm after the GSBC open lab (12, noon - 2 p.m.) and the Genealogical Society of Broward County business meeting (which begins at 2 p.m.).
